There are 186 lakes in the Pirin Mountains and Lake “Okoto” (The Eye) is one of the most impressive.  It is the closest lake to the nearest Vihren hut and is relatively easy to access thanks to a mountain road.  This glacial lake has its deepest point at an impressive 5.4m.   Lake “Okoto” provides ideal conditions for a summer picnic.

Hiking start from Vihren hut to the mountain lake – Okoto. Then on the way down the oldest tree on the Balkan Peninsula can be visited. Will learn the legend about the lake and about the tree. Will enjoy the one of most beautiful view in the mountain.

The hiking is easy level and about 2-3 hours.
